Richard D. Jennings
CEO
With an MBA from Harvard Business School and Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Richard Jennings brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the biomedical and healthcare fields. Prior to joining California Cryobank, Richard served as CEO of Mediscan, one of the premiere health care staffing firms in the U.S.
His extensive experience also includes: fundraising for the American Heart Association in Los Angeles; CFO of the Woodland Hills Chamber of Commerce; Associate Administrator of the Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center; and a series of positions with increasing responsibilities within Child Care and Infant Care Sectors of Kimberly-Clark Corporation.
Pamela Richardson
President/COO
Prior to joining California Cryobank, Pamela worked as a global strategic consultant for McKinsey & Company, as well as the Vice President of Corporate Alliances at Disney.
As a mother of three teenage daughters, Pamela knows firsthand the importance of California Cryobank’s mission of helping create, protect and safeguard families’ futures.
She monitors and hones the quality of CCB’s services by attending industry tradeshows, medical conferences, and speaking with physicians about meeting and exceeding the expectations of their patients.
Jaime M. Shamonki, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer
Prior to joining California Cryobank, Dr. Shamonki spent seven years as Section Head of Breast Pathology and Medical Director of the Blood Bank at Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California.
Dr. Shamonki was educated at top medical institutions including The University of Vermont, New York Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical College and UCLA.
An Assistant Professor at the John Wayne Cancer Institute, she contributes to ongoing research studies in the fields of oncology and immunology.
Charles A. Sims, M.D.
Co-Founder/Medical Director
Charles A. Sims, MD, is also co-founder and medical director of California Cryobank, Inc., the parent company of FamilyCord. He is a board certified pathologist, laboratory director and has served as Chief of Pathology at Century City Hospital, Los Angeles, California. Dr. Sims earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University. He is certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology. He previously served as the Laboratory Director of a large national independent referral laboratory and is the founder of Quantum Clinical Laboratories. Dr. Sims is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Association of Tissue Banks (Standards Committee), American Fertility Society, Society for Cryobiology, The American Association for Advancement of Science, College of American Pathologist (Fellow) and American Society of Clinical Pathologist (Fellow).
Cappy Rothman, M.D.
Co-Founder/Brand Ambassador
Cappy Rothman, MD, is co-founder and medical director of California Cryobank, Inc., the parent company of FamilyCord. He is a board certified urologist and nationally recognized authority on andrology, the urological sub-specialty of male reproductive health and human sperm banking. Dr. Rothman earned his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency training at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, followed by urological residency training at the University of San Francisco and a urological resident at Loma Linda University. He is on the medical staff at Century City Hospital, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and is a clinical instructor at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Rothman is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of the Society for Cryobiology, American Fertility Society and American Association of Tissue Banks. Dr. Rothman is the author of dozens of scientific articles on male reproductive health and regularly lectures at national medical conferences.
