Michael Cranston Lill, MD
Medical Director
A graduate of the University of Western Australia, Dr. Lill has had an impressive medical career in the field of stem cell and bone marrow transplantation and currently holds an important position in that field in Los Angeles. Previously, Dr. Lill was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the UCLA School of Medicine, Los Angeles, California, where he held the position of Director of the Bone Marrow and Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Processing Laboratory. Dr. Lill is a member of the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Blood Banks, the Australian Medical Association and the International Society of Hematotherapy and Graft Engineering. Dr. Lill has published extensively and is a sought-after guest lecturer.
Charles Sims, MD
Co-Founder and Medical Director
Charles A. Sims, MD, is also co-founder and medical director of California Cryobank, Inc., the parent company of FamilyCord. He is a board certified pathologist, laboratory director and has served as Chief of Pathology at Century City Hospital, Los Angeles, California. Dr. Sims earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University. He is certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology. He previously served as the Laboratory Director of a large national independent referral laboratory and is the founder of Quantum Clinical Laboratories. Dr. Sims is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Association of Tissue Banks (Standards Committee), American Fertility Society, Society for Cryobiology, The American Association for Advancement of Science, College of American Pathologist (Fellow) and American Society of Clinical Pathologist (Fellow).
Cappy Rothman, MD
Co-Founder and Medical Director
Cappy Rothman, MD, is co-founder and medical director of California Cryobank, Inc., the parent company of FamilyCord. He is a board certified urologist and nationally recognized authority on andrology, the urological sub-specialty of male reproductive health and human sperm banking. Dr. Rothman earned his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency training at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, followed by urological residency training at the University of San Francisco and a urological resident at Loma Linda University. He is on the medical staff at Century City Hospital, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and is a clinical instructor at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Rothman is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of the Society for Cryobiology, American Fertility Society and American Association of Tissue Banks. Dr. Rothman is the author of dozens of scientific articles on male reproductive health and regularly lectures at national medical conferences.
